The first lady
The career of CBS Sports' Lesley Visser has been a series of firsts. The trendsetting sportscaster/writer, now 53, was the first female NFL beat writer in the mid-1970s while at The Boston Globe. She also was the first female NFL color analyst for CBS Radio, the first woman to be on ABC's "Monday Night Football" team, the first woman assigned to a Super Bowl sideline, the first woman to handle a Super Bowl trophy presentation and is the only sportscaster, male or female, to have collectively worked the network broadcasts of the Final Four, the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NBA Finals, the Triple Crown, the Olympics, the U.S. Open and the World Figure Skating Championship.
Now, reports The Miami Herald, Visser may be on the verge of becoming the first female president of an Arena Football League franchise. With the support of AFL commissioner David Baker, Visser has lined up two Midwest-based ''money men'' and is studying the viability of bringing a team to BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., the Herald reported. Visser and sportscaster husband Dick Stockton live in nearby Boca Raton.
According to the newspaper, others who have offered encouragement to Visser include former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski and rocker Jon Bon Jovi, both part-owners of the AFL's Philadelphia Soul.

I had no idea Visser was 53. It would be pretty great if she was president of an Arena League team.
Hey, I love the blog, and I'll do the link exchange.
