Dana Jacobson returned to the air Monday with another apology for comments she made at a recent celebrity roast for ESPN Radio personalities Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic.
"I want to once again say how truly sorry I am for my poor choices and bad judgment that night," Jacobson said at the top of the program. "I've taken responsibility for what I did say and do that night."
The co-host of ESPN2's "First Take" was suspended by the network for a week for her drunken tirade at the Jan. 11 roast for the hosts of ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning."
In her monologue, Jacobson reportedly made disparaging remarks about Notre Dame University (Golic's alma mater) by exclaiming, "F*** Notre Dame," "F*** Touchdown Jesus," and then "F*** Jesus." Jacobson, a Michigan grad, has long shared a friendly rivalry with Golic.
A prominent Catholic group criticized Jacobson, and a small protest was organized Friday outside of ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn.
"Mistakes do not define us. It's how we respond to those mistakes that does," Jacobson said in her on-air apology. "I hope you forgive me, and allow my future to define me."
