Early bogey for new Golf anchor

Images3 An anchor on the Golf Channel has expressed regret for saying Tiger Woods should be "lynched."

Kelly Tilghman apologized for saying on air that she thought today's young players should "lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley," according to a report in New York Newsday. Tilghman made the comment during the Golf Channel's broadcast of the Mercedes-Benz Championship last week.

A spokesman for the network said Tilghman apologized on the telecast Sunday and attempted to contact Woods' reps to express her regrets, the newspaper reported.

Tilghman just started working as lead anchor with Nick Faldo as the top broadcast team for the network's PGA Tour telecasts in 2007.

that's one smart lady!

i believe she should get another chance to better her comment and she should not be fired just suspended for a little while BY/Darius C.

Darius: I agree she shouldn't be fired, but this is a reminder to all journalists that you need to choose your words very carefully.
