Golf Channel suspended anchor Kelly Tilghman for two weeks on Wednesday for saying last week that young players who wanted to challenge Tiger Woods should "lynch him in a back alley."
Tilghman apologized on the air Sunday and attempted to contact Woods' reps to express her regrets. Woods' agent said he didn't think Tilghman's remark was intended to hurt his client.
The suspension came a day after the Rev. Al Sharpton called for Tilghman to be fired.
Tilghman just began working as lead anchor with Nick Faldo on the top broadcast team for the network's PGA Tour telecasts.
