Just days away from the start of the X Games, ESPN has unveiled plans to launch an online extreme sports network.
PaidContent.org reports the ESPN Action Sports Network will launch in the fall, with content from the EXPN.com site to be folded into the new channel. The network will feature a menu of sites, each focused on action sports such as surfing, skateboarding, motocross and snowboarding.
Besides its own material, paidContent notes ESPN has deals in place with Web sites such as Surfline.com, Vans.com and Active.com to share content.
